As the temperatures start to drop, you might be thinking, it’s time to winterize your pressure washer and are dreading the process. This dreaded process just became a whole lot better and easier.

Being in Texas the winters may not get cold enough to reach freezing point, 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0˚ Celsius), very often but just in case it does its good to be prepared. For those who reside in the north where temperatures drop past the freezing point, these tools are something you should have on hand.

To ensure the longevity of your power washer and prevent any damage during the off-season here are 5 tools to make winterizing your power washer easier.

5 Tools To Winterize your Power Washer

Keep your power washer safe during the cold weather with these 5 tools

1. Pump Saver

When your power washer is in storage, moisture may form in the pump. To prevent moisture from freezing, attach a pump saver to prevent any mineral deposits from developing. The pump saver can stay attached to the power washer overnight, for a few days, or all winter long if you won’t be using it.

2. Antifreeze

Antifreeze helps to regulate the temperature of your power washer from up to 275 degrees Fahrenheit to as low as negative 30 degrees. Antifreeze can help reduce friction, prevent corrosion, and damage to various parts.

3. Fuel Stabilizer

Fuel Stabilizer helps to prevent any moisture from freezing and clogging the fuel lines during storage. The stabilizer will preserve the condition of the fuel at the time of application, so if your fuel has been sitting for 30 days or more it will preserve the condition of 30-day old gasoline.

4. Air Compressor

Using an air compressor helps to push out any water that may be lingering in the hoses, valves, or inlet of the pressure washer.

5. Sludge Pump

Using a sludge pump can make draining your water tank on a trailer rig set up a lot easier and faster. Any water left behind can freeze and expand leading to busted hoses, damaged parts, or even start to grow mold and mildew.
