In addition to being powerful and rugged, Hotsy’s pressure washers are also exceptionally versatile cleaning tools. This is due in large part to their interchangeable high-pressure nozzles that offer a number of different spray patterns. These nozzles are color-coded to make them easy to identify at a glance.

A Visual Guide to Hotsy's Nozzle Spray Patterns

Red nozzles deliver a zero-degree spray pattern. This pencil-thin stream of water is ideal for removing caked-on mud from surfaces. Yellow nozzles offer a wider 15-degree spray pattern, perfect for scraping dirt off of sidewalks and driveways. Green nozzles spray in 25-degree pattern, and white nozzles spray in a wide 40-degree arc. These nozzles are well-suited to cleaning vehicles and other painted surfaces that might be damaged by a narrower spray pattern.

It’s also important to choose a pressure nozzle with an appropriate orifice size for your pressure washer. The orifice size should correspond with the recommended pressure and flow rate of your machine. Choosing an orifice that’s too small can put unnecessary strain on your pressure washer’s engine, while an orifice that’s too large will cause to you to lose cleaning power.

To check the orifice size of a high-pressure nozzle, refer to the numbers listed on the side of the nozzle below the plastic collar. The first two numbers denote the spray pattern, and the last three numbers indicate the orifice size. A Hotsy parts catalog can help you find the appropriate nozzles for your pressure washer.
